If you don't use it, you will lose it!

RACE #6.....was the midnight run in Cullman.

I had two people who ran with me this time. (My bff Heather had to work) :(

Now, when I say ran with me I don't me beside me. Joseph Hinson does not know the definition of running with someone.  He blew us away!  I was so glad to see him for a second ;) oh to be 16 and in shape again. I gave him the one day you will be fat and slow talk. He did great I think his time was like 26:00. Wowza, one could only dream.

My sister-in-law Jaynna participated in her very first 5k. I am so proud of her. If you know her, you know running is out of her element.  This girl gave it 100% this week trying to get ready for this race. The best news of all, she is gonna do more races with me. Yay!!!!

I haven't ran too many days in the last few months and buddy it showed. I have had some medical issues come up in the last few weeks as some of you may know.  At one point this week they were trying to rule out aneurysm and congenital birth defect. Yesterday, I found out that aneurysm, stroke, tumor and MS were all ruled out. Praise the Lord. Now, I still have a numb face and vertigo but I will survive! I had a CTA yesterday and the contrast made me a little sick.....that is my excuse for being so slow anyways. I had made my mind up at the beginning of the week i would run regardless of any diagnosis I was given.

Now, race details....
What a hilly little course this was!  600-700 runners were there. If you know Cullman that is a huge turn out. I paid for my laziness, I promise you. I am not ashamed of my time of 40:00, I just use it as a lesson learned. The coolness of the night was a trick....once the running started it was a quick warm up! I sweated like it was noon. I didn't enjoy running at night. I was afraid I would fall on the concrete.....many people did! My ipod music was terrible and I was uninterested. Honestly, every hill I got to I was ready to vomit, cry and fall over. I finished, that is all I can say.

I intend on intense training for the next 14 weeks. Yes, 14 weeks til half marathon. Whoohooo. A mixture of running, spinning and swimming is the plan.

Thanks for the support these past few weeks. I love you all so much!

Pics to come shortly,

Jennifer
