So, I started the 10k program. Wowza. You wanna challenge yourself, this is the way to go! I have been adding hills in my training because the Orphan Race slapped me in the face. It was intense. Two days down this week and 1 to go. Can't wait for some R and R when week 1 has been completed. ;)
Next on the agenda....I called my dad and talked to him about running. **background info** Dad ran a lot when I was a kid. I remember he would drop us off and the public swimming pool for hours (yes we were great swimmers to all you nay-sayers) and he would run miles upon miles. I remember going to his 5ks while mom was asleep (nightshifter) and he told us to hang around the finish line. *insert time has changed thought* I couldn't imagine doing that with John nowadays. Anywho, I asked Popsi what his 5k time was and he preceded to tell me, "well when I started my time was 23-24 min and when I stopped racing it was 18-19 minutes." Really? Thanks dad for making me feel like a LOSER. :) I'm gonna say that this is only because he was a Marine. (Only to help my ego) Guess that means I'm gonna have to step it up.
Speaking of stepping it up....some of you have mentioned that you are gonna run with me. There is no better time like the present!
Finally, this weather is amazing. I am getting to break out the shorts and tanning my legs!!! This is my favorite time of the year. If you are not taking advantage of 70 degree weather in March, you seriously have issues. My prediction is a strong cold snap with some snow the beginning of April. I hope I'm wrong.
Love to all my Leprechauns,
Jennifer
